Thank for your interest in our little piece of heaven.
"cabin dot calm" is located in the Town of Kagawong, which has been voted Ontario's "prettiest town" and is home to the famous Bridal Vial Falls. The cabin is OFF-GRID and sits on 10 acres of land.
With being off-grid there is limited hydro which is harvested through solar panels. The water supply is collected through rain water barrels (not always full) and is not for drinking. It is advised to bring drinking water or you can fill the three water bottles in the cabin from the water dispenser in town. (water is normally restocked by previous renters if they use it). Bathroom facilities include an outdoor port-a-potti and there is an outdoor shower.
A short walk down the street and you come to the entrance of the area's private sandy beach, on Lake Huron's North Channel.
The cabin itself sleeps 4, The Bunkie sleeps an additional 2-3 with a futon and couch. You will need to bring your own linens, towels and water.
If you rent in the later end of the season there is a propane heater for temperature control.
Our Cabin is pet friendly and is smoke free.

Summary: Great stay at this off grid cabin. The beach area that we had access to feels tropical, clean sand, clear water, scenic. The cabin is well equipped, queen bed is comfortable, the screened in porch provides extra space.

Summary: Really enjoyed the days at cabin dot calm. As advertised, it was a quiet retreat to relax in the woods. The sandy beach for the subdivision was also great for swimming. Had no troubles figuring out the propane, the outdoor shower etc. Tee also kindly refunded one night when my travelling companion was injured en route to the cottage.

Summary: We spent 3 nights at this little cabin in the woods. Very secluded, private and quiet. Will recommend to friends looking for an economical, environmentally conscious accommodation on Manitoulin!

Summary: Really enjoyed my stay at cabin-dot-calm. The cabin was clean and as described when I arrived. A large property with lots of privacy. Communication was excellent with the host. A beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. I look forward to coming back!

Summary: The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. We had everything we needed. There was plenty of electricity since it was sunny and a propane fridge. The property is quite large and private, which was great for us and our 2 dogs. The local beach is small and the sand too wet to set up a blanket, but we really enjoyed swimming there nonetheless and coming back to the property to lay in the sun.
